GCSE results up again as Prenton celebrates its best year ever!
Congratulations to the Class of 2010!
Following the best set of GCSE results this year, Prenton High School for Girls Headteacher Mrs Paula Dixon says, "Our 2010 GCSE results are outstanding and I am delighted for all our students, teachers, parents and carers who have worked so hard in achieving these marvellous figures."

Prenton’s ‘fast-track’ to Academy status
Because Prenton High School is an Outstanding school (Ofsted 2007/2008), the Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove, invited us in May to consider applying for Academy Status using the new, ‘fast-track' route. This means that we could become an Academy from the Autumn term 2010.
Having considered the option to convert to Academy Status very carefully and in considerable depth, the governors passed a resolution in favour of Academy conversion at a full governing body meeting in June. The application to convert to an Academy will now be completed and the process of changing Prenton High School for Girls to Academy Status will begin. Headteacher Mrs Dixon said "It is important to emphasise that we have been offered this status because we are one of relatively few schools in the UK who are judged an ‘Outstanding School' by Ofsted. We believe that Academy status will bring so many more opportunities, not only for current students but also for those who choose Prenton High School for Girls for their future secondary schooling".
